The Days of some Slaves

Josh was still shaking when he was brought back. Starr saw him shaking, and dropped a makeshift rattle she made for Marcus. She ran over, and stared at him. She then looked up at Melissa.

Starr: What happened?

"We might be moving" She said softly, then kissed Josh's forehead "Josh, nobody will harm you...I won't let them" She said softly, then headed inside "Starr, I want you and Marcus inside most of the time...I CANNOT lose any of you" She was worried "Including Josh"

Starr nodded, then started rocking on her feet. As Josh started to sleep, she starred at him.

Starr: He seems so different when he is asleep. Not as mean.

"He isn't mean...ust needs someone to love him"

Starr nodded at Melissa, as Josh started rolling around in his mistress's arms.

Melissa kissed his cheek "Josh we do love you, everything is okay..." She smiled "You have us now...and I'll guard you with my life"

Josh woke up, and started to stand up. He was still shaking, and shook his head, trying to regain himself. He looked at the ground, then spoke up.

Josh: I need to be alone for a bit. . .

She nodded "Just stay near the house" She said softly, worried. "I'm going to go hunt...if there are any problems..." She gave them whistles "Blow these and I'll be here as soon as I can" She kissed Star's and Josh's foreheads then Marcus' and left

Starr nodded, then Josh headed into Melissa's room, sat on the bed, and meditated.

Melissa hunted a few deer

Starr grabbed the rattle, and started playing with Marcus.

There was knocking on the door

Starr ran to the door, with Josh not to far behind. Starr opened the door slight, and peeked an eye out.

Starr: Yes. . .

A woman was there "Where is my sister" She snarled

Starr: Sister, uh, I don't know what you are talking about.

She closed the door, and took a couple of steps back in fear.

The door reopened and she walked in, snarling "Melissa is my bitch of a sister..."

Starr disappeared behind Josh, and she was shaking.

Josh: I'm sorry ma'am. I don't know anyone by that name. I believe you have the wrong address. If you would be so kind as to leave my house, I would really appreciate it.

She rolled her eyes "Your dumbass Mistress, and this is my home not hers"

Josh:. . . Ah. Well, that ruins that. And what makes you think I'm a slave? What, is all Half-elves slaves, Racist.

"Yes they are" She snarled, just then a female half elf walked in, she was in rags

Josh's face grew grim, and he raised his right hand. It was glowing bright, and he gave her a disgusted look.

Josh: You better treat her good.

Melissa walked in and froze "H-H-Hi S-S-Sidney..." She said softly

Sidney yelled "WHERE THE HELL IS IT"

The half elf was terrified and whispered softly "Melissa...the money..."

"I know...I PROMISE to give it to you soon sis" Melissa said to Sidney softly

Sidney snarled "You better hurry up, or you'll give me one of your slaves as payment" She left then shouted "LUCY, COME"

The half elf bowed lowly, then ran after her Mistress quickly. She was clearly terrified of her Mistress.

Melissa collapsed and started crying. "I-I don't know what to do...it is ttoo dangerous for you guys to get jobs..."

Josh didn't hear her, because he ran outside past her, straight at Sidney. He snapped his fingers, and a wall of fire erupted in front of her. He glared at the back of her head.

Josh: I don't think you answered my question, girl.

The half elf made it disappear and they kept walking

Josh walked behind them, and grabbed Sidney's shoulder.

Josh: Answer my question. Do you treat her right.
