The Homeless

A girl, no more than sixteen, was wandering around the streets. She was dirty, wore rags, and was underweight. The girl began to cough, people ignored her as she tried to get help. Suddenly she stepped in front of a car, when it hit her she collapsed. The girl was still breathing, but barely conscious.

People walked by without a care as she lay there in pain. She coughed up blood and looked around, wondering if the person driving the car cared or not.

The car drove past the girl but behind it stood a boy, who rushed to her and took her off of the road and onto the pavement.

She looked to him tiredly. She was bleeding and began to shiver. The poor girl tried to talk but it was difficult, she stopped trying and just looked at the boy curiously. She whimpered in pain and tried staying awake.

He picked her up and carried her into an alleyway where he put her against a wall. "Dammitdammitdammitdammit. I don't have anything to use as a bandage!"

She whimpered again in pain. She shivered more, then coughed violently. She managed to whisper to the boy. "Who are you?" She tried moving, but stopped when everything hurt.

The girl close her eyes and passed out, her breathing slowed a little. Her stomach was showing from under her skin, all her organs and bones were. The girl was weak and sick but still looked a little pretty.

(Is it even possible to be this beat up from getting hit by a car?!)
"I'm a friend." He lifted her again and started running and asking where the nearest doctor or hospital were along the way.

(She is homeless and starving)


People pointed the way. The girl slept soundly, pain on her face.

After a while the boy arrived at the hospital and charged in. "She was hit by a car."

Doctors rushed to her aid and took her to a room. They put tubes in her and one looked to the boy. "Sir, she's also been starving...do you know anything about her or her situation?"

he shakes his head and takes his hat off. "I just saw her get hit and brought her here."

The doctor nodded and covered her up. "Can you please search for her family?" He asked softly and sighed. "I'm not sure if we can save her..."

"She doesn't look like she has one... That and I don't know her name, nor surname."

He sighed "Thank you...would you like to wait outside the room for a bit?"

He nodded and did so.

The doctor left an hour later "You may go in, she is awake but weak..." He said softly "Her name is Scarlet Sunbeam"

He smiled and came inside. "Hello there."

She coughed and whispered "Hi..." She looked around, then looked at her tubes curiously.

"I brought you to hospital." He smiled.

She whimpered, scared. "Wh-What happened?"

"You were hit by a car."

She whimpered softly, there was a tube in her stomach which scared her.

"It must be for food... You were starved.."

"Who are you?" She asked him softly

"I'm Linden Holes."

She coughed a little "I'm Scarlet Sunbeam"
