Gwn and Vannessa

It was eight in the morning on December 3, 2000. A girl, who looked sixteen, she was weak and fragile with kitty ears and a tail. The nurses put her in a room and hooked her up to some tubing. She whimpered a little, clearly in pain and slowly slipping into a coma. This is her story.

She had long black hair, black ears, a black tail, and was in a hospital gown. She was wrapped up in blankets, her name was Vannessa Lionheart, she was an experiment. Vannessa was also an orphan, she was clearly terrified, even in her sleep.

Gwyn was walking around the hospital, dressed as a doctor. He had picked up wind of some strange stuff going on in here, and decided to investigate. He walked along for a while, trying to pick up what was happening.

There was nothing. All that was happening was doctors talking about a girl they got from a lab and that they were tending to.

Gwyn nodded, figuring he got the story wrong. He found his way into the girl's room, and looked at the nurse.

Gwyn: What's the story with her?

"She was exeprimented on...poor girl, the police arrested the scientists and parents for doing this to her...she is an orphan who might slip into a coma...that is all I know"

Gwyn: Ah, well, that is dreadful. Truly. Had the police captured all of the individuals involved then?

"Yes, they did" she said softly

Gwyn: Well, that is good to hear. I'm glad that they caught the people responsible for it. For my next question, who is going to take care of her then?

"A foster home," she said, "or an orphanage"

Gwyn: Well, how come one of you aren't adopting her. With the experiments conducted on her, do you really that she is going to trust a bunch of people she doesn't know. Actually, she might not trust you either, what with the coats and all.

"That is why we don't wear the coats...and we are all too busy"

Gwyn: Ah, well, that is a fair point. But, for now, do you want me to watch her?

"Yes, and I know you aren't a real doctor"

Gwyn: Was it really that obvious. No, don't answer that, I know it was. I apologize, I heard about the news, and I was in the area. So, I thought I would check it out.

"I have to go...be careful with her"

Gwyn nodded, then watched the woman leave. He turned back in his seat, and started observing the people outside.

A few hours later Vannessa started to wake, she was whimpering.

Gwyn looked over at the girl, and gave her a light smile.

Gwyn: Why hello there. I am glad to see that you are awake and well. How are you right now?

She saw him and whimpered softly, terrified. She wanted to leave, she hated this place.

Gwyn: What's the matter? Are you scared?

She tried moving, even more scared.

Gwyn: Oh, I'm scarring you, aren't I? I'm sorry. If you want, I could get a nurse or a doctor in here for you if you want.

She curled up, crying

Gwyn put a hand on her shoulder, and gave it a firm grip.

Gwyn: It's okay, what happened in your past is now over.

She started to freak out when he touched her
