Lillian Hale's Life

Lillian Hale, a sixteen year old girl, was remembering her past. Her mother had yelled at her for smacking her baby brother. Lillian didn't care much for her brother then, but she did now. Her baby brother's name was Arget Hale, all she remembered about him now was how much he loved her. Lillian's parents had gotten sick of her and threw her out on the streets, Arget tried to help her but their father had stopped him.

Lillian began coughing, now she was dying. She gently touched her stomach which was showing through her skin. She hoped her brother remembered her and still cared about her. Some people walked by and looked at her they had all agreed that once she died they were going to throw the body into an ocean. She began to cough then started closing her eyes she was hoping to see her brother one last time.

"Arget..." she whispered and coughed, "Arget Hale...its me, your sister, I just wanted to say I'm sorry...I'm going to die now baby brother, I wanted to see you one last time but..." tears had filled her eyes and streamed down her cheeks, "I'm sorry...and happy birthday...I love you so much." She struggled with the pain, she knew he most likely couldn't hear her but didn't mind it much. She laid there, awaiting for something, anything, to happen.

Arget stood within earshot of his sister, unbelieving that he had found her. "Lil?" He asked, as tears of mixed happiness and despair formed in his eyes.

"A-Arget..." She said softly coughing. She shivered a bit and whispered weakly, "Arget..." she tried to move to see him but felt too weak. "H-Hey baby...brother..." she coughed and started closing her eyes again. "I'm so...cold..." she was happy that she could hear him but could barely smile.

He rushed straight over to his sister and kneeled down next to her. "I-I finally found you, sis. Y-you can't go now." He started to cry next to her.

She looked to him and gently touched his hand, "Everything will be...okay..." Tears filled her eyes and streamed down her cheeks, "at least I...got to see my...Arget..." She started coughing violently, the gasped a little. "My...baby brother...is all...grown up..."

"Y-you're weak.. You need h-help. I don't know what I can do th-though."

She relaxed and said softly to him, "It's...okay..." she cosed her eyes people had come to watch and cheered when she had closed her eyes. There was a hospital near by.

"WHAT ARE YOU CHEERING AT!?" He stood up and wiped tears from his eyes. "I need help... She needs help."

"Why should we help you?" A woman asked, smirking "she is finally dead, that stupid girl just kept digging in our trash..."

"How could she survive any other way if she was kicked out of her home!?" He tried to pick his sister up, but couldn't quite manage it. "She isn't dead yet! She can't be!"

"Why would any of us care if a filthy mutt lie her died?"

"Because how would you feel like if your sister who was driven away from you died in front of your eyes!?" Tears started rolling down his cheeks again.

"I don't have a sister" She smirked and walked off with the others.

"MONSTERS!"

They ignored him and just kept walking. A man had remained and approached him, "I''m a doctor" he said softly to Arget.

He turned to the man. "Are you going to help her?"

The man nodded and gently picked her up. "Come, let's get her to a hospital," he said softly.

He nodded and started walking.

The man carried her into the hospital and tto room 300, there he laid her down and hooked her up to some tubing.

"I-is she going to be ok?" He asked, worried.

"I am not sure, you might want to stay with her whie she rests," he told Arget. "I'll do everything I can, but she's been starved for too long..."

"Yeah. I wasn't planing on leaving."

He put a breathing mask over her mouth, she began coughing and whimpering. "It will take some time," he told Arget. "She won't be able to eave the bed for a while..."

"I know... As long as she's fine."

The doctor nodded softly. "She will wake up in a few hours, I have to go tend to other patients okay." He started to walk out, then stopped for a second. "There are blankets in the closet along with pillows," he said before leaving.
