The Days of some Slaves

Josh patted her head, then laid down.

Josh: You seem to be feeling better, Melissa.

"I feel much better"

Josh gave her a light kiss on her cheek, along with a warm smile.

Josh: Glad you are well, Melissa.

She smile and hugged him

He embraced her, lightly enough so Marcus wouldn't get squished.

She smiled "Marcus said his first word before he fell asleep"

Josh: Really? Wow, smart lad. What was it?

"Josh"

Josh:. . . Wow. . .

"Yeah...then right after he said Mommy"

Josh: Wow, he is a smart one. He is going to be the one to find the cure for cancer. Or something else equally as good. Maybe he will stop slavery, I can live with that.

"He is the smartest boy in the world next to you" she said to Josh

Josh: Well, I appreciate the compliment, but there always more to learn, and those who know more then you. Don't worry, I'm smart enough to take care of those I care about.

She smiled, "You are smarter than most people...especially slavers...Want to help me with something later?"

Josh: What do you need help with?

"Well...maybe...blowing up some peoples clothes"

Josh:. . . Sure, I can do that. But why?

"Well they've hurt you, and me...plus I'm sure you'd liketo meet the other guys who hurt me"

Josh: Oh, yes, I would love to help.

"No killing though"

Josh: Alright, I won't. So, let's go then, shall we?

She got up, smiling."We can scare the hell out of them"

Josh: Well, I think it should be fun to frighten them. Now, let's go.

"Hold on" she grabbed clothes and went into the bathroom, returning in a gothic outfit. She picked Marcus up and took him to Lucy

Josh was at the front door, waiting for Melissa to show him the way.
